published on the occasion of the “blind approximate” exhibition at the castle of gruyères in 2017. micheal rampa’s pictorial technique of rubbings and color strata is the main focus of this edition. the publication presents a 1:10 reproduction of the exhibition’s artworks, resulting in a dynamic set of close-ups distributed through fourty-eight pages. A subsequent monochromatic reduction of all the paintings allows an alternate reading of the works, one based on presence or absence of matter.
